The Users & Devices Calculation Strategy setting controls how Salesbuildr determines the number of users and devices per customer. This count is used in the Whitespace module to show seat totals per company, and can be referenced when building per-seat pricing in quotes
You can find this setting at Admin > Platform > Miscellaneous

The three available options are:
Disabled
User and device counts are not sourced from your PSA. The counts will show as empty or zero in Whitespace. Choose this option if you manage seat counts manually on each company record, or if this data is not relevant to your workflow.
PSA Custom Field
Salesbuildr reads the user and device counts from a User Defined Field (UDF) on the company record in your PSA. When a company is synced from your PSA, Salesbuildr looks up the specified UDF and uses its value as the seat count for that customer. This is useful when you already track user or device totals as a custom field in your PSA (e.g. an Autotask UDF called “Number of Users”).
Contract Item Reference
Salesbuildr calculates user and device counts by looking at active contract line items in your PSA. It identifies contract items that correspond to user or device-based services (such as Microsoft 365 licences or managed endpoint subscriptions) and sums up the quantities on those active contracts per customer. This method gives you a live count derived directly from what your customer is already contracted for, without needing a separate custom field
Which option should I use?
If you already have a UDF in your PSA that tracks the number of users or devices per customer, select PSA Custom Field and map that field in the Data Import settings. If your PSA contracts are up to date and reflect active user or device counts (e.g. licence quantities on recurring contracts), Contract Item Reference will give you an automatically calculated count without any manual data entry. If neither applies, leave it set to Disabled.
