Shipping costs can be added to quotes as a separate line item. Configure shipping types, set free shipping thresholds, and assign default shipping methods per company or product category.
Shipping types
Shipping types define the available shipping methods with associated costs. Each type has:
- Name — Display name (e.g., "Standard Shipping", "Express Delivery")
- Price — Sell price to the customer
- Cost — Your cost for shipping
- Active — Toggle to enable or disable the shipping type
Manage shipping types at Admin > Quotes > Shipping.
Adding shipping to a quote
When sending a quote from the quote editor, select a shipping type from the dropdown in the send dialog. The price and cost auto-fill from the shipping type but can be overridden per quote.
Automatic shipping calculation
When products belong to category that have a default shipping type configured, Salesbuildr auto-selects shipping on the quote. If products span multiple categories with different shipping types, the highest-priced shipping type is selected automatically. You can always override the auto-selected shipping type manually.
Configuration levels
Shipping can be configured at multiple levels. More specific settings override general ones.
Delivery addresses
Companies can have multiple delivery addresses, managed on the company's Addresses tab. When sending a quote, the company's default delivery address is used. If Allow recipient to update shipping address is enabled globally, the customer can change the delivery address when reviewing the proposal.
Shipping and procurement
When a purchase order is created through Procurement, shipping applies to the order. If dropshipping is enabled on the PO, items ship directly to the customer's delivery address via the distributor.
