Copy a line item in the widget editor

Duplicate a product row in an Items widget template so you can add many similar labor lines without searching the catalog again.

When you build Items widget templates — especially project calculations with repeated labor lines — you often need the same product many times with only the name changed. Instead of searching and adding the product again for every row, use Copy line item.

Where to find it

  1. Open Quotes > Widget templates (or edit an Items widget from a quote template).

  2. Select an Items widget that lists products in the editor.

  3. On each product row, find the copy icon in the actions column (above the delete/bin icon).

How to copy a line

  1. Hover the copy icon on the row you want to duplicate. The tooltip reads Copy line item.

  2. Click the icon.

  3. Salesbuildr inserts a new row directly beneath the source row.

The duplicate keeps the same:

  • Product reference

  • Name and description (including translated name/description fields when localization is enabled)

  • Quantity

  • Selected add-ons

After copying

  • Edit the new row independently — changing the name, description, or quantity on the copy does not change the original row.

  • Click Copy line item again on either row to add more duplicates. There is no confirmation dialog; you can copy many times in a row.

  • Remove unwanted rows with the delete (bin) icon as before.

Typical use case

Project quotes that list the same labor product ten or more times with different task names: copy the first labor line, rename each copy, and avoid repeating product search for every line.
