Localization profiles

A localization profile defines a language and lets you override customer-facing labels throughout the quote experience. This includes button text, section headings, field labels, and other UI elements.

Create a localization profile

  1. Go to Settings > Quotes > Localizations

  2. Click Create localization

  3. Select a Language from the dropdown (e.g. Nederlands, Français, Español)

  4. Enter a Name for the profile (e.g. "Dutch", "French")

  5. The system assigns a Locale code automatically based on your language selection

  6. Start overriding labels. For each label you want to customize:

    • Find the original English text in the list

    • Enter your translated or customized text in the corresponding field

    • Leave fields blank to use the default English label

  7. Click Save

You can create as many localization profiles as you need, each tied to a different language or market.

Assign a localization to a quote template

To set a default language for quotes created from a template:

  1. Open the quote template you want to configure

  2. Go to the template settings

  3. Select a Primary localization from the dropdown

  4. Click Save

All new quotes created from this template will use that localization by default.

Switch language per quote

You can override the template's default language on individual quotes before sending.

  1. Open the quote in edit mode

  2. Go to Quote settings in the side navigation

  3. Use the Quote Language dropdown to select the primary language for this quote

  4. (Optional) Use Translation Options to add additional languages. Your customer can then switch between languages when viewing the proposal

  5. Click Save

The quote will display in your selected language when sent to the customer.

Auto-translate quote content

Salesbuildr can automatically translate user-written content using Microsoft Translator. This includes:

  • Widget text (custom HTML, rich text blocks)

  • Product and service names and descriptions

  • Email subject lines and body text

Template variables like {{customerName}} and {{companyName}} are preserved unchanged during translation.

Translate a quote

  1. Open the quote in edit mode

  2. In the side navigation, look for the Translate button (or similar [confirm with dev])

  3. Select the Target language you want to translate into

  4. Click Translate

The platform translates all user-written content and displays the translated version. Template variables remain as-is.

Translate an email template

  1. Open the email template editor for your quote

  2. Look for the Translate button in the side navigation

  3. Select the Target language

  4. Click Translate

The email subject and body text are translated while template variables are preserved.

How localization profiles and auto-translation work together

  • Localization profiles override UI labels and system text (buttons, headings, field names)

  • Auto-translation translates your custom content (product descriptions, widget text, emails)

For best results:

  1. Create a localization profile for each language you support

  2. Assign it to your quote templates

  3. Use auto-translation to translate custom content per quote as needed

A customer viewing a quote will see system labels in the localized language and translated content in their selected language.

Tips

  • Test your localization profile by creating a test quote and checking that labels appear as expected

  • If you use multiple languages in a single quote, use Translation Options to let customers toggle between them

  • Auto-translation is on-demand; it does not happen automatically when you change the quote language

  • Always review auto-translated content before sending; machine translation may need refinement for technical or brand-specific terms
