Quote Localization

Create localization profiles to send quotes in your customer's language — locale settings, custom label overrides, and per-template language selection.

Quote localization lets you send customer-facing proposals in a specific language. You create named localization profiles — each with a locale and custom label overrides — and assign them to quote templates. When a customer receives a quote, they see the correct language for all headings, buttons, and column labels.

How it works

Localization in Salesbuildr works at two levels:

  1. Localization profiles — Define the locale (en-US, nl-NL, etc.) and override any of the built-in label strings for that language
  2. Quote template assignment — Each template has a primary localization and a list of available localizations. When a quote is created from that template, the localization controls what text the customer sees

The internal quote editor always shows your default language. Localization only affects the customer-facing proposal view.

Creating a localization profile

Go to Admin > Quotes > Localizations and click New Localization.

Each profile requires:

Description

NameA label for this profile (e.g., "Dutch", "French — Belgium")
LocaleThe language/region code. Defaults to en-US

Label overrides

Below the locale setting, every label used in customer-facing quotes is listed. Each label shows its default text — override any field to replace it with your localized version.

Label categories include:

  • Product table columns — Quantity, unit price, total, discount, subtotal, bundle products, add-ons, setup, etc.
  • Section headings — Summary, table of contents, etc.
  • Action buttons — Accept, decline, download PDF, share, presentation view, etc.
  • Signature block — Labels for the signature section, including alternative signing methods (print, sign, send by post or email)
  • Status labels — Quote status text shown to the customer (draft, sent, approved, declined, expired, pending payment)
  • Terms and conditions — Consent and agreement text
  • Shipping — Delivery address, invoice address, ship-to labels
  • Service terminations — Labels for the churn/cancellation section
  • Leasing — 16 leasing-specific labels (summary title, payments, terms, interest rates)
  • Basket/self-service — Labels for the self-service checkout flow
  • Contract — Contract total and term labels

Leave any label blank to use the system default for that locale.

Assigning localizations to a template

In the Quote Template settings:

  1. Open the template you want to configure
  2. Find the Localization section in template settings
  3. Set the primary localization — used by default for all quotes from this template
  4. Add additional localizations if the template is used for multiple regions (requires the multi-language quotes feature to be enabled for your account)

When creating a quote from the template, the primary localization is pre-selected. The quote creator can switch to any of the available localizations before sending.

Editing an existing profile

Open any profile from the localizations list to edit its label overrides. Changes apply to new quotes — quotes already sent are not retroactively updated.

Tips

  • Create one profile per language variant you send to — e.g., separate profiles for Dutch and Belgian Dutch if you use different terminology
  • You don't need to fill in every label — only override labels that differ from the system default for that locale
  • Use with email templates — Email templates also support localization so the whole communication is in your customer's language
  • Test before sending — Preview the customer-facing quote to confirm your overrides look correct
  • Auto-translate — When multi-language quotes are enabled, use the Translate quote button in the editor to auto-translate widget content into the selected locale
